The combined entity will operate five converting facilities that offer high-design paperboard packaging.

Mill Rock Packaging Partners, a portfolio company of private investment firm Mill Rock Capital, has acquired US-based speciality packaging and printing company Impressions.

Based in St Paul, Minnesota, Impressions specialises in designing, engineering and producing high-end paperboard packaging and commercial printing products for various end markets.

With advanced production facilities in St Paul and Hutchinson, the company offers a wide range of eco-friendly, customised folding cartons for consumer staples, pharmaceuticals, health and beauty applications and other daily-use products.

In addition, Impressions provides lithographic printing and a number of other value-added services, including product engineering, prototyping and post-print production.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Mill Rock Packaging vice-chairman and Mill Rock Capital senior partner Bob Feeser said: “Joining forces with Impressions is an exciting development for the clients, suppliers and associates of both organisations.

“The transaction marks our entry into the important Midwest market and will enable us to expand our product and value-added service offerings across the combined footprint.”

Following the acquisition, Impressions will function as a sister company to Mill Rock Packaging’s other operations and support its strategy to expand across the US.

The combined entity will run five converting facilities, which will manufacture high-design paperboard packaging for consumer markets according to their daily requirements.

Impressions CEO Mike Jorgensen said: “Mill Rock is the ideal partner to sustain Impressions’ longstanding commitment to quality, innovation and reliability.

“Our shared vision for future growth will benefit greatly from the additional resources and capability of the broader platform.”

Impressions’ leadership has also made an investment in Mill Rock Packaging.

Alvarez & Marsal and White & Case acted as advisors to Mill Rock Packaging during the transaction, while FINNEA Group advised Impressions.

Last February, Mill Rock Packaging acquired US-based speciality paper packaging company All Packaging for an undisclosed sum.
