The start of Christmas business is not ushering in a recovery needed to deliver a significant improvement in demand on Germany’s corrugated board market.
Persistently unsatisfactory order books are not affecting all areas equally, but almost all companies suffered downturns. The online shopping business, in particular, was hit by double-digit percentage slumps compared with what happened over the past two years or even compared with pre-pandemic levels.
Not all companies have already cut shifts, but inadequate workloads are evident across the board.
